Snowy Owl - "Tundra"

Tundra is a male Snowy Owl that was captive breed in New York. Snowy's can be a hyper bird in captivity and therefor a captive born bird raised around human is a much better candidate than one that was injured from the wild. He is our most striking bird and at the age of 1 1/2 he is almost pure white. The Females retain the Black markings on their wings and chest. He stays inside our home during the summer months. Snowy's have a sort of fur coat under their feathers and can overheat very easily. So he gets to stay in the air conditioning and watch owl videos during the summer months! During the breeding season, Snowy's will go north of the 82nd Parallel where it gets 50 degrees below zero at night!
