Merry Christmas Everyone! Wow 2008 is almost over. What a year it has been. We had such a variety of birds this year come in for rehab. This year it was Great Horned Owls that dominated as they were the bird we received the most. We were blessed to get a Barn Owl to replace our beloved "Miles" who we lost last year to West Nile Virus. We were excited to be able to take in two Bald Eagles from a facility in Eldorado that was shut down, and find them a home in Florida. After trying for several years we were able to add "KILI" our Peregrine Falcon to our educational programs. Tours in 2008 were the most we ever had, and we had a steady increase in the number of offsite programs during the 4 years since we started Eagle Valley. We added a new seating section to our Pavilion, completed our campsite, and had several young men complete their Eagle Scout Projects. Our goal for 2009 is to add a sidewalk that goes in front of the birds, so that elderly, and people needing assistance walking will be able to navigate with struggling through the gravel we currently have. We are looking forward to 2009, and we want to invite each of you to come out and experience up close these wonderful and important creatures to our Kansas Environment! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!
