May has started off with a bang! Field Trips from Augusta, Maize, Elsworth & Wichita have visited EVRC. We had the honor of taking Talon our Golden Eagle to the Girl Scouts of the Kansas Heartland Awards Ceremony at Starwoods Camp and do a presentation and speech. The highlight was when the 13 girls receiving their Gold Award got to have their picture taken with Talon! We also was invited to Cheney Lake do a program for the OK Kids Day at the Lake! A local Boy Scout will be working on earning his Eagle Scout Badge by completing a windbreak on the North side of our Parking lot. He will be planting Native Red Cedar Trees. Our Baby Great Horned Owls will be ready for release in a few weeks and we will let everyone know how it went! Our sidewalk campaign is coming along, but we still have a long way to go, so any idea's to help us raise the funds to build it will be greatly appreciated! As always, keep EVRC in mind this summer when looking for a place to take family and friends!
Sincerely,
Ken Lockwood
