Spring time is here and that means BABIES! Eagle Valley has received its first babies of 2008. A nest at Rolling Hills Golf Course in Wichita was blown out of the tree along with 4 new baby Great Horned Owls. Only one survived the Fall. He is about 3 weeks old and we named him "Tiger Woods"! Rachel Bournival our assistant rescuer, got a call from Boeing near the Spirit Employment Office and another Great Horned Owl baby was sitting in front of the office door. We then got a call from a farmer in Conway Springs, and a baby Great Horned Owl had fallen out of the nest that was above the door going into a storage shed. With the help of a forklift, Rachel was able to put it back in the nest. We have been getting ready for spring field trips, painting, staining, planting new trees, mowing and trimming. We also are getting things together for our Native American Story Telling. Check back with us and we will be announcing the release of our Babies in about 5 weeks. Let us know if you would like to see the release!
Take care!
